Jonah's Cybersmart Challenge #8 Google Presentation Slides

 Today at School I did another Cybersmart challenge, challenge #8. This challenge is about using Google Slides (Click this to go slides)  to create an animation. Here's what I had to do

Step 1: I go to Google slides and name it 'Your name' Boat Animation. 

Step 2: Then you want to go to to where the line is, tap the arrow pointing down and pick polyline (click it).

Step 3: After you do that you're gonna make a boat shape with the flags

Step 4: And then make waves with the curve line. After that just create a backround and VOILA! 

Something I really found easy was creating the boat, but something I found hard was making the slides (copying and pasting the slides), nevertheless here is my activity down below.

Jonah Conjunctions 1 and 2

Today for literacy I did conjunctions. Conjunctions are a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause.

Something I really found hard (Activity 1) is the 'Ends and Starts' Activity, I think this one was hard for be because I had to add the words together to get the conjunction.

Now about Activity 2 (Hardest thing) was the 'What goes Together' Activity because I didn't get the hot and cold because I did not see the H and the C.

Jonah Cybersmart activity 7# fish

Today Te Wairua Pakiki 4 (TWP 4) did one more cybersmart challenge, challenge 7 a fish challenge, so what I had to do was just basically made some fish with shapes and then blog it! Something I found hard was just keep on flicking through the shapes and something I found easy was drawing the fish and here is my activity down BELOW!

Jonah Wonderopolis activity

Today for reading my class (TWP 4) did an activity called the Wonderopolis activity. What we had to do was go to Wonderopolis (Click Wonderopolis for the link) then we had to pick a story, the story that I picked was, What are Rodeos? After that I took the wonder of the day and a picture then I put it on my document. Straight after I did that I wrote down the question and my wonder words in Wonderopolis. After that I read the story and wrote down the facts I learnt.

Something I found hard about this activity was surprisingly nothing and I found everything easy, but here is my activity below.

Jonah Adjectives activity 1 & 2

 Today for literacy I did another Nouns activity but this time it was adjectives. An adjective is a word that can name a word naming an attribute of a noun, such as sweet, red, or technical. Another example of an adjective word is abandoned.

Something I found hard about activity 1 was the 'Pick the Adjectives' activity, just because I didn't know I just had bold the Adjective but I also had to highlight the nouns (I didn't read it properly). 

And something I found hard about activity 2 was the making adjectives because I had to see the adjectives and write it down, but I couldn't see any, nonetheless here is my activity dow below!.

Jonah Cybersmart Challenge #6 (Tidy Drive)

Today TWP 4 and I did another cybersmart challenge Tidy Drive. So the first thing you have to do is move the first instructions in the right order, an then you have to get a red circle and use it to look at the docs, drawings and slides, and use a blue one to look at the named ones. Then I had to follow the steps .

Step 1: Go to your Google drive.

Step 2: Move your loose documents into the appropriate folders.*

*if you have documents that don’t fit into any of your learning folders, leave them till Step 3.

Step 3: Create an “Other” folder* you may want to create subfolders within this folder.

Step 4: Move the rest of your documents that don’t fit into your learning folders into your new ‘other’ folder. 

Step 5: Screenshot your Tidy drive and insert the image.

Jonahs Dinosaur Timeline

Today for science TWP 4 wrote the timeline of the Cretaceou, Jurassic and Triassic period. A long time ago between 248 and 208 million years ago, the first Triassic Period Dinosaurs appeared to earth and most of them were very tiny ike the Pterosaur and Eorapter. For the Jurassic Period 208 to 144 million years ago there were large plant eating dinosaurs such as Diplodocous and Brachiosaurus. Creataeous Period: 144 - 65 million years ago there were big, meat eating dinosaurs the Tyrannosaurus and gigantosaurus. They ate plant eaters.

St Patrick, Soul friends and Ash Wednesday

Today for Saint Pius X we had a very special mass. This mass is special because we celebrated the three important occasions for our school . They are, St Patrick's day, Soul Friends and Ash Wednesday. As we journey in the fourth week of lent, today we honour St. Patrick who is the patron saint of the Irish people and The Holy Faith Sisters who started our school, more than sixty years ago, who were from Ireland. They brought with them the beautiful idea of Soul Friends. We had our Ash Wednesday today because we were on lockdown during Ash Wednesday.

In the early Irish church the people chose someone smart to be their soul friend. This is a friend that they can talk to and share their life experiences. The soul friends seek his/her advise and share their stuff in life like how their life is going and their worries. About St. Patrick, St Patrick's full name was Maewyn Succat and then he changed his name to Patricius, or Patrick. St. Patrick was born in Britain—not Ireland—to wealthy parents near the end of the fourth century. He is believed to have died on March 17, around 460 A.D. Math Slide and Add Attack

Today for maths I did another math slide and a math starter call add attack, for my math starter all I did was split them into 100's 10's and 1's this was really fun and Here is my activity down below.

Today for RE TWP 4 did a Prayer to the Holy Spirit, this RE activity was kind of hard because I had to remember times when I purposely or thoughtlessly made someone cry or when I  punched someone when I got mad. Here is my activity below

Jonah Math Slide and Math Pyramid

Today for Math I did another math slide and the math Pyramid. I found that the slide was kinda hard for me, something I found easy about the math Pyramid was the 10+6 question because I knew it was 16. Something I found hard about the Pyramid was nothing really but this was fun this is my activity down below.

Jonah The America Cup Race Begins

In the article ‘America Cups Begins’  by Kiwi Kids News, the main person or group in this new article are the Emirates New Zealand team and Luna Rossa (Italy) sailing teams.

The key event from the news article is that on the 10th of march it was the beginning of the American Cup races. The day ended with it being a tie, with New Zealand winning the first race by 31 seconds and Italy winning the 2nd race by 7 seconds.

This event took place in Auckland, New Zealand on the Waitematā Harbour. 

This event took place on Wednesday 10th of March 2021.

The America’s cup started on August 22, 1851. Did you know that the Britain’s have never won a cup before, winners decide the race locations and it costs a billionaire's fortune to take part in the America Cup Race.

Pablo Picasso Art - Cubism Drawing #1

Yesterday the 9th of March Te Wariua Pakiki 4 (TWP 4) did some art that is based on Pablo Picasso's art.      Pablo Picasso was a 91 year old that drew paintings, Picasso was born on the 25th of October 1881 and was born in Málaga - Spain, he lived in 2 different places Madrid and Paris. Pablo had two siblings Lola Picasso and Conchita Picasso, his parents were José Ruiz y Blasco and María Picasso y López. Picasso started playing at the age of 15. He died 8 April 1973 at the age of 91. This is one of his art and mine.

In cubism art you can play around with lots of shapes . The facial features like you eyes, nose, mouth and ears can be in different shapes and in different places, Our teacher said "Cubism is that it looks like as if the painting dropped and cracked and was rearranged when put back  together. " When we looked at the pictures we noticed that everything was in a different order. After our teacher demonstrated and we saw lots of examples it was our turn to draw.

Step 1: In pencil, draw your head, any shape will work. You can use a mirror or draw from your imagination. 

Step 2: Add your facial features, eyes, nose, mouth, etc. Try to use your shapes you noticed in your discussion.

Step 3: Add your hair, What lines can you use took look like your hair. 

 

International Women's Day 8th March 2021

On the 8th of March was International Women's Day. In our class we did an activity to challenge the stereotypes and bias of both male and female role's within our society. We first had to get into the same gender groups. We then wrote down the positive and challenges of the opposite gender. The boys wrote about the positive and challenges for females and the girls wrote about the positives and challenges of being male. After we came up with some ideas in our groups we then joined our groups our groups with the opposite gender. Something we notices was the two lists were very different. Women had more challenges. For example men can play and get professionally for sport, get to sleep in and are fathers We also said that a challenge for a male is the they provide for the family and have to always be brave. Something we learnt that males and females aren't considered equal in lots of aspects of life. Can you add any more stereotypes to this?

Jonah Math Slide & Math Starter

Today for maths I did Prototec level 4 with a timer and another math slide, something that I found hard on the Prototec was the 20 - something = 15 one because someone came and distracted me and I did not have much time to write it, something I found easy was the Doubles/Halves to 20 because I knew my doubles and halves to 20, and nothing was hard for the slides.

Today for Cybersmart I did another challenge, challenge number #5. The challenge was taking a photo of a drawing that I drew and put it on a blog. I chose this picture because it was really easy to draw and it was just my name. Here is my picture below!

Jonah Proper Nouns Activity's 1 and 2

Today for writing we have been practising our proper noun skills. Today we focused on common nouns, a common noun is a word that names a person, place, a thing or an animal. A noun can tell who or what. 

Something I found easy about Activity 1 was the Just the best activity and my favourite one in Activity 2 was the every month activity. What I found easy about Just the best activity was I got to write down my favourite stuff and my favourite activity the every month activity because it was really easy to do.

Something I found difficult in Activity 1 was the the city chain because it was really hard splitting them up and something difficult I found about Activity 2 was the  Seek and Find activity because I could not find Shrek and Anne but this was really fun and here are my Activity's Down Below.

Jonah Bookmarks Activity 4

 Today for a new Cybersmart activity TWP 4 was doing Bookmarks this was really short but kind of fun and here is my Activity down below.

Today TWP 4 did another Cybersmart challenge, the challenge was screenshots! For the screenshots I had to take a screenshot of my School Site, Class Site, Class Blog and My Blog. I really liked to do this because it was easy, fun and I knew what to do and how to do it.

Jonah's Collective Nouns Activity 1 and 2

Today for writing we have been practising our grammar skills. Today we focused on Collective Nouns. A Collective noun is the name of the group of a whale, shark, pea and many more.

Something I found easy about activity 1 was the Scrambled Names, the Scrambled Nouns activity was easy because there was just 3 and something I found hard about it was the Farms and People activity because I didn't know the group name for puppies and horses. 

Something I found easy about activity 2 was the What Veggies because I knew what group names for the veggies were and something I found hard was the Snail Trail because I couldn't see anything, but here is my activity below.

Great Big Hearing Check 2021

Great big hearing check 2021

Today during out morning distance learning meeting we found out that this week is the Great Big Hearing Check 2021 week. Triton Hearing is running and fundraising event and awareness campaign.

This March, Triton Hearing is checking your hearing for FREE to help raise awareness for hearing loss in New Zealand. If you complete the hearing test they will donate $1 to national for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Something that I really liked was me getting a hearing test to check if my hearing is good, another good thing is that we are donating to charity every time we complete the hearing test. Here is the site.

Jonah Living World Unit 1: Prehistoric Life
