International Women's Day 8th March 2021
On the 8th of March was International Women's Day. In our class we did an activity to challenge the stereotypes and bias of both male and female role's within our society. We first had to get into the same gender groups. We then wrote down the positive and challenges of the opposite gender. The boys wrote about the positive and challenges for females and the girls wrote about the positives and challenges of being male.
After we came up with some ideas in our groups we then joined our groups our groups with the opposite gender. Something we notices was the two lists were very different. Women had more challenges. For example men can play and get professionally for sport, get to sleep in and are fathers
We also said that a challenge for a male is the they provide for the family and have to always be brave.
Something we learnt that males and females aren't considered equal in lots of aspects of life.
Can you add any more stereotypes to this?
